Twin Room Makeover

Boys Room Master Photo.jpg

The twin’s got a brand new room, and they love it! It’s their big boy room which basically means that all the baby blue that was left over from their nursery is gone. They begged and pleaded for a spiderman room but mama ain’t doing that. I see enough of that with toys and tv on any given day to last a lifetime, it is everywhere we look in our house. I want to walk into a room and love the feeling and not want to flee. The best part is that the bedding situation works for any and all demographics. I love the details and the color combo of the green and yellow. Try it for your guest room, master, etc. I got these beds when the boys transitioned from cribs/toddler bed but they were no longer available, I have linked the most similar style below.

This is the boys first nightstand and I did not want to purchase an investment piece because as you can see it sits in between their beds that they jump back and forth between all day long. I went to IKEA and had a ah-ha moment when I saw it. $40, raw pine, perfect size! I basically could do whatever I wanted with it and not worry if they damaged it entirely (within 30 minutes of assembly Teddy stepped into the drawer part and we had to make some minor repairs). I would had been sobbing in a corner if I bought an investment piece, thank God. Check back for a post coming that chronicles the whole journey of what I ended up doing with the nightstand.

I purchased these print downloads on Esty, we love them and the art is so playful. I had them printed with MPIX and was blown away with their printing quality. It was the first time I went through that company but I can safely say they will be my go to from here on out (I have already purchased more items through them). The frames were amazon linked below.

The toy storage towers from IKEA work great to collect all toys and maintain a clean room (All mom’s are now rolling their eyes). I like that they’re white and clean and bright and hide the mess. I chose these green stackable cubbies from target to top the towers. I thought it would be fun for them to have their own cubbies at home and the color matched the room perfectly.

We got this dresser at Pottery Barn Teen when they transitioned from nursery to toddler room and we still love it! However, when it came time to style the dresser (ie what’s going on top) I was having a hard time drawing any inspiration from what I was seeing. The items were either fragile, useless or not my style. I was watching Mary&Crew’s instagram playroom highlight and loved how she styled the top of the playroom storage. I decided to recreate a bit of that look on the dresser. Some books are properly displayed and we get fun from the IKEA abacus (the the twins are now obsessed with using). The lamp base is from At Home stores Here.
