How to gift wrap with raffia ribbon

Sometimes the giftwrapping is better than the gift itself, and if you’re like me, then you fully appreciate the power of beautiful wrapping. My latest wrapping obsession is to use Raffia Ribbon.

This look is all about spotting that great wrapping paper print and setting it over the edge with a pop of unexpected color whimsically tied into a bow.

Whit Tip: Tie in the giftees favorite candy (or at the very least, a candy that matches the overall color scheme)

I found the perfect pack on amazon with 15 raffia color options:

The wrapping paper can be found Here

How to:

  • Wrap you’re present neatly

  • Choose your dominant pop of color to wrap around the gift

  • Once the gift is wrapped, tie knot

  • Grab 2-3 colors (including the dominant color) and cut equally to desired length (this will depend on the size of your gift, but for example with this gift I cut all 3 colors to 30” in length and plan on having the “bow” be about 6 inches in diameter

  • Take all ribbons and wrap them into a circle

  • Pinch at middle and take tails on knotted gift to secure all ribbons into another knot

  • Trim tails if significantly longer than the desired bow diameter

  • Spread out the ribbon for a whimsical, playful look & Voila!

Whit Tip: When shopping for wrapping paper, try to steer clear of rolls that have “Happy Birthday” written all it. Wrapping paper is just another area in which you can display your personal style – buy the roll you get excited over and use it for any occasion.

Here is another raffia option you will see me use often:

That’s a wrap!
